Faraday Institution Summer Fellowship
Congratulations to MChem student Charlotte Hyde who was awarded a Faraday Institution Summer Fellowship in which she performed an analysis of the economics of lithium ion battery recycling.
She carried out a retro-economic evaluation of what a recycling process could cost given the target price for a battery. She was able to show a fourfold difference in the profitability of a recycling process if the battery was disassembled compared to processes where it was shredded.
Her fellowship resulted in a high quality paper and she presented her findings in a poster at the national Faraday Conference where she won a Highly Commended Award. Well done, Charlotte!
