Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ GREAT Scholarships 2026

In partnership with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ is offering one scholarship of £10,000 GBP to students in Pakistan applying for a one-year postgraduate course (excluding PGCEs).
The GREAT Scholarships 2026 programme, launched by the British Council together with over 60 UK universities, supports international postgraduate students in accessing world-class UK higher education opportunities. The scholarship programme offers financial support of £10,000 to students pursuing one-year postgraduate study in the UK. Students can apply for courses in a range of subjects, at over 60 institutions across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland from specific countries. .
Application process
To apply for this scholarship, you must complete an application form.
You are asked to answer the following within the application form:
- We are seeking scholars who will serve as outstanding ambassadors for the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ. In no more than 200 words, please describe how you will embody our University’s values as a Citizen of Change during your time at Leicester. Provide a specific example to illustrate your commitment to making a positive impact within the University and beyond.
- We aim to support students who have a clear vision for their future. Please create a short video (no longer than 60 seconds) explaining how studying your chosen programme at the Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ will help you achieve your goals and shape your plans after graduation.
- We are seeking scholars who demonstrate excellence both academically and in their mindset. Priority will be given to applicants who have achieved the equivalent of a high First-Class Honours degree at undergraduate level.
Application timeline
- Application window: 5 November 2025 to 31 May 2026.
- Shortlisting and final selection: 1 June 2026 to 19 June 2026.
- Notification window: The final winners will be informed by 26 June 2026.
Terms and conditions
- You must be classified as an international student for fee purposes and a permanent resident and passport holder of Pakistan.
- You must be starting a full-time campus-based Masters course commencing in September 2026. This excludes the PGCE.
- The fee as stated in your offer letter is the final fee and no other discount will apply.
- The discount will be awarded for a maximum of one year.
- It does not include the cost of an industrial placement or any resit costs.
- Please refer to the relevant course page for the current placement fee.
- If you are a sponsored student, unless otherwise stated, you are still eligible for the discount provided you meet the other eligibility criteria.
- Eligible students in receipt of a Commonwealth Masters, or Chevening fully funded scholarship do not qualify for this fee discount.
