Profile

My background is in English Language and Literature. In my doctoral thesis I explored the role of conceptual metaphor in learning and communication. I subsequently became interested in storytelling in education and began working in the area of learning technology, designing and creating online learning resources for a range of audiences.

I now specialise in leadership and project management within Engineering, including Engineering ethics.

I provide pastoral support to all the School's MSc and MEM students, and to my own undergraduate tutees, with a focus on developing professional and academic skills. I am the School's Senior Tutor, which means I oversee the Personal Tutoring system.

Teaching

I am the module convenor for a fourth-year module, Leadership and Project Management, in which I lead workshops on Engineering Ethics and other topics related to professional development.

As Personal Tutor to the School's MSc and MEM students, I deliver face-to-face and online student support sessions and tutorials. My focus in these sessions is on developing the academic and professional skills of our taught postgraduates.
